What we loved about this product: “This is the best math program I have ever used. It focuses heavily on critical thinking and mental math, algebraic thinking. It is also free. You can print it out, or do the worksheets online (although their work isn't saved)”

What we did NOT love about this product:: “I ultimately quit using this program because it is very teacher intensive, and working through it with four kids took up my entire day. If you are homeschooling one or two kids, I highly recommend this.”

Rod and Staff English Series

Subjects Covered: Language Arts (Literature, Grammar, etc.)

What we loved about this product: It is basic, no frills, and provides a solid grammar foundation. Because it is Christian based, kids are getting positive messages as they learn. For example, they learn that language is a gift from God, and our words should be truthful and kind.

What we did NOT love about this product:: It is a little dry. The lessons can be long if you choose to do all the exercises.

Advice for Others About this Product?: Rod and Staff curriculum was developed for a classroom, and as a result there is A LOT of practice exercises. Don't feel like you need to complete every exercise in the lessons. Doing so may cause your children to hate English and/or have daily bouts of tears.
